Companies such as tesco, google and facebook use facial recognitions. Apple is investigating the possibility of using facial recognition as a security measure for unlocking iphones. Blinkwashing uses facial recognition to track eye movements, and doesn"t mine data. A coffee company used facial recognition to give free coffee to people who yawned. In this caes, facial recognition could be used as providing entertainment and engagement rather than personalization. Facial recognition can be used, for instance, when investigators have a picture of a suspect but not a name. Using facial recognition they can compare the photo to thousands of people rather than physically brining in possible suspects.
