Middle ages: same understanding about earth"s creation, medieval scholars tried to map out what god created, belief that earth was the center of the universe. Sun up and sun down came from this concept: believed that the sky had the answer to how the earth worked. Astronomy began: materials could change form. Belief that alchemists could change coal into gold if they could figure out the machine (machine=earth) The 15th century: translated information was dispersed and nobody had access to all of it, scholars set out to find it all, poggio- toured all of europe doing transcriptions and selling them to other locations. On the nature of things lead to a different view of how things came to be.
