Most prefer bright light, moderate fertility, high humidity and normal home temperatures for best growth: many can tolerate less than ideal culture though. Generally divided into three classifications based on root type: rhizomatous, tuberous, fibrous. Lipstick plant is a vine with fleshy, leathery leaves and bright colored flowers that resemble. Columnea hybrids, such as the goldfish plant, have a single, tubular, flaring, hooded flower lipstick: bright light is essential for flowering, commonly a hanging plant, dry air or drafts will often cause leaves to drop. Episceia genius is the trailing flame violet that is grown for its foliage and lowers, which are trumpet-shaped: overwatering will cause dieback, while low humidity, dry soil or excessively bright light can brown the leaves. Sinnigia genius are the florist"s gloxinia, with flowers up to a foot high and leaves spread a foot wide: delicate and prone to breaking when moved, two flower groups:
