Descent with modification= evolution is driven by natural selection. Need to have variation in natural selection. Do not know where dna mutation occurs. Alfred wallace: thought of the same thing as darwin at the same time. Species: group of organism that share homology and are able to interbreed and produce viable offspring. Breeding successfully means they can pass dna back and forth.
