Begins at chelmno on the narew river in poland. Of the 400,000 people who went there only 2 came out alive. One boy survived bc he was winning all of the games the nazis set up for prisoners (very agile) and he had an amazing voice and would sing to the rabbits. Szymon/simon srebrnik survived a gunshot to the head (it missed his spine and exited from his mouth) At treblinka they were asked to separate barbers from non-barbers, so he said he was and chose some others who he knew (16 barbers total) Taken to the gas chambers to work there. Put benches there so that people thought they were going to get their hair cut but they were really going to the gas chambers. They didn"t know what they were going to when they were asked. Had to make it seem like the women were coming to get hair cuts, then shower, then leave.
