Perth is basically the only city in western australia. 5 deserts: great victorian desert, gibson desert*, great sandy desert, tanami. ***pay attention to changing climate as they go north- shift from wet, lush humid subtropical to mediterranean-style chaparral vegetation to dried out savanna-style grassland scrub to full on desert. They escape and make their way back home. The state gave itself the power to take these children and put them into white families to have a better life.
