Political violence and armed conflict lecture notes are ones that people inflict on each other, the urge to shield children from knowing about this is even greater. However, the wisdom of the ages, whether literary or clinical, encourages us to resist (cid:498)(ere is the world. Don(cid:495)t be afraid. When those horrors the temptation to conceal and instead find safe ways to reveal(cid:499) (cid:523)weingarter (cid:884)(cid:882)(cid:882)(cid:886), p. (cid:887)(cid:886)(cid:524) (cid:498)those who say that children must not be frightened may mean two things. They may mean (cid:523)(cid:883)(cid:524) of things he can(cid:495)t bear to think of. His mind must, if possible, be kept clear the knowledge that he is born into a world of death, violence, wounds, adventure, heroism and cowardice, good and evil. If they mean the first i agree with them: but not if they mean the second.
