Violence: physical force exerted for the purpose of inflicting injury, pain, discomfort, oor abuse on a person or persons for the purpose of damaging or destroying property. Aggression: behavior perpetrated or attempted with the intention of harming an individual (or group of individuals) physically or psychologically. Injury of an individual is secondary to the acquisition of some other external goal. Physical violence precipitated by a hostile or angry reaction. Neurotoxins: trace elements, pesticides, chemicals. (mercury and lead). Malnutrition: adverse outcomes, increased aggression in adolescence and children. Traumatic head injury: early childhood, present in physical abuse of children, leads to further aggression. Socialization factors: process by which a child learns the scripts for specific social behavior, along with the rules, attitudes, values, and norms that guide interaction with others. Learn aggressive behavior, antisocial, and violent behaviors through observation. Cognitive factors: ideals, beliefs, and patterns of thinking that emerge as a result of interactions with the world during a person"s lifetime.
