MEDICO Lecture Notes - Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia, Arthritis, Myelopoiesis
Document Summary
Chronic myeloid leukemia (cml) - tumorous a disease arising from the progenitor cells of myelopoiesis, the morphological substrate of which are maturing and mature granulocytes. Cml - clonal disease with a characteristic proliferation of granulocyte sprout of the hematopoietic system, which in 95% of cases is characterized by the presence of a specific cytogenetic marker - philadelphia chromosome (ph +). Such an anomaly is formed as a result of reciprocal translocation between chromosomes 9 and 22 in one of the regions of the genebcr-abl. Cytochemical study: differential diagnosis of blast cells at the stage of blast crisis, which in 75% is myeloid type and 25% - lymphoid, alkaline phosphatase activity of neutrophils is sharply reduced. Cytogenetic study of blood and bone marrow: detection of translocation t (9; 22) or additional abnormalities in the karyotype (10%). > 80% of patients have a ph-positive chromosome.
