It secretes the hormone erythropoietin stimulus is anemia. Not pure endocrine gland because it performs excretion and production of urine: hypothalamus. There will be a secretion of hormones once there is a stimulus. Melanocyte-stimulating hormone produce melanin when it is stimulated by the sunlight. Chemical released by one or more cells that affect cells in other parts of the organism.
