How would I calculate the molarity and calculated pH of the strong and weak acids? Would I need to use the dilution formula for [HCl]2 and [HC2H3O2]2âI believe the molarity values I have for them to be wrong.
Measure all volumes in your graduated ylinder. Mix all dilutions thoroughh. Transfer samples to your 50 mL or 100 mL beaker in order to make pH measurements. You may have to tilt the beaker in order to properly immerse the pHI meter electrode. Use your 600 ml beaker filled with DI water for rinsing the electrode between readings. A. 1. pH of Acid Solutions: Strong Acid, HCl: Obtain 10.0 mL of 0.10 M HCI. Transfer 9.0 mL to a 50 mL or 100 mL beaker labeled [HCI], Dilute 1.0 mL of the 0.10 M HCl to 10.0 mL with deionized water in your graduated cylinder, transfer to a 50 mL or 100 mL beaker, and label [HCI], Measure the pH of each solution. 2. Weak Acid, HC,H,O, Obtain 10.0 mL of 0.10 M HC,H,O, Transfer 9.0 mL to a 50 mL or 100 mL beaker labeled [HC,H,OJ,. Dilute 1.0 mL of the 0.10 M HC,H,O, to 10.0 mL with deionized water in your graduated cylinder, transfer to a 50 mL or 100 mL beaker, and label it [HC,H,O,, Measure the pH of each solution.
