Need help on writing the experiment part for lab report. My teacher likes it very short and concise. We are doing Two-Base Liquid-Liquid Extraction lab report.

This is what I have written so far.

Experiment

A 1:1:1 solid mixture of 2 grams is dissolved in 20 mL of diethyl ether and placed in a separatory funnel. Each component of the solid mixture is extracted out using liquid-liquid extraction. The extracted products were both rinsed with HCL and vacuumed filtered, melting point was taken.

Just need help cleaning it up. Here is the example of how he writes the experiment

Written description of the experiment. ◦ Procedure

◦ NOT a numbered list
◦ 3rd person, passive
◦ Simply state in clear terms the steps needed to complete the task.

Example (melting point):
A small amount of a sample was loaded into a 5 cm melting point capillary. A rough estimate of the mp of the sample was determined by ramping the temperature at rate of 10 °C/min. The fine mp was determined by heating a new sample at a rate of 2 °C/min.
