Four point charges have the same magnitude of 2.9 x 10-12 C and arefixed to the corners of a square that is 4.5 cm on a side. Three ofthe charges are positive and one is negative. Determine themagnitude of the net electric field that exists at the center ofthe square.

Hint:Each charge creates an electric field at the center of thesquare, according to equation 18.3. Draw four arrows at the centerof the square; one for the electric field created by each of thefour charges. Two of these electric field vectors will cancel eachother out. The remaining two are in the same direction and have thesame magnitude.
