I am having trouble with distinguishing between when I need to use magnitude and when not to. This applies to more than just question 27, but I am using it as an example. In the first step why do you use the magnitude of the electron in proton (thus getting rid of the minus sign) where in other problems that are pretty similar, the minus sign is still there. Or do you always use the magnitude and the minus sign I am seeing is coming from somewhere else? Thanks.
