Question 1: What part(s) of speech does the prefix re- attach to? Note the contrast between
list A and list B. What is the difference between these sets of words?

list A are verbs with Direct objects (transitive verbs) while list B are verbs with
indirect objects (non-transitive verbs).

Question 3: In general, what meaning change(s) are caused by the addition of the prefix re-?
In the ideal case, what meaning does the prefix re- add to the word or stem to which it is
attached?
-The prefix re adds the meaning of doing something again. For example, with the
verb work to add re to it would mean to work again, to repeat the action.
Question 4: Why can you reshoot a movie but not reshoot, say, an animal?
-The reason reshoot can be used in reference to a movie and not to an animal is
because a movie has the ability to be re-done, but you can’t shoot and kill an
animal again after you’ve already shot and killed it because it cannot revert back
to its original state.
