Document Summary
Studying hollywood narrative films: made by and for people who have a western cultural perspective. Hollywood makes use of the invisible and visible in guiding us to interpret a film. Filmmakers want you to enjoy film, to trick anyway that they can: studying a language like recognizing when something will happen in a horror film. The black screen, need to be scared when the music starts playing, but be really scared when it stops and then the monster appears. A way to create things and is well organized, but is targeted at those who have a certain set of cultural experiences. From another place/space it may not make sense. In interpretation there is no right answers, there is what the director intended and what the composer interpreted, and audience members will more or less interpret it in a similar content (however there will be a handful that doesn"t)
