*visual cues are more trustworthy than auditory cues* We see w/ our brain - *the eyes are just instruments that collect, focus, and sense the light stimulus* Light: travels as a wave the height = amplitude distance btw peaks = wavelength amplitude a ects the perception of brightness - > generally, higher amplitude = more light being re ected/emitted by object. Variations in wavelength a ect the perception of colour - > measured in nanometers or millionths of a millimetre. Purity a ects the perception of the saturation of colours single wl is pure light & the perceived colour would = completely saturated natural light = combination of many wls & would be considered desaturated. The eye: light passes through the curved cornea (transparent window at the front of the eye) - *this means that some visual processing is done in the retina before the signal is set on to the brain.
