Workhop 1: define and describe the eea. Are there different aspects of the eea that would be relevant to different kinds of development? (vision, language etc. ) The environment of evolutionary adaptedness, to which our body is morphologically/physically adapted to. Different aspects of the eea can cause different types of development. Different aspects are helpful depending on different selective pressures. example: vision, what"s relevant is light, reflective of biologically relevant items etc. Why important in child development? language, how were language families distributed geographically. Which perspective follows aristotle? assosiationism (watson and lockwood followed this) Which perspective emphasized nature and nurture working together? systems theory evolutionary perspective: what is an adaptation? a trait designed and selected for through natural selection because the selective pressures from the environment in which is evolved. You can only get complex adaptations because incremental improvements are improved upon multiple times: re iterative. What was the major problem? thought offspring were an average of parents (blended inheritance)
