Ex. of historical 1800s sexuality was tied to reproduction, only have sex to make kids this was normalized and seen as the only appropriate form of sexuality. Sex was very much tied to heterosexual marriage and during this time, even married couples were expected to restrain themselves sexually. Sexuality that wasn"t tied to reproduction was seen as criminalized or seen as deviant.
