The porcellio scaber, commonly know as a sowbug or woodlouse, is on average. This organism has an oval shaped body that appears grey and brown in colour with pale highlights on the edges. On its anterior, the p. scaber has two antennae (approximately. 2. 20mm); on its posterior there are two uropods, which are about a third of the length of an antennae, and on its sides are multiple legs that are similar in size to the uropods. The antennas are the p. scaber"s defining feature as this is its major sensory factor. Interestingly, p. scaber originated from the sea but through evolutionary time, have adapted to living on land as hinted at by the similar factors shared in the two environments (milatovi et al. , 2010).
