Culture is hard to define and has changed over decades. Culture: system of meaning that is shared among members of a group; not only shared but also transmitted from generation to generation. Culture being used interchangeably with other terms like ethnicity, race, society. Meaning that you give to those characteristics (norms, guidelines, standards) Difficult to define what race is, measure it. Some aspects of the same that are the same regardless of where you were born, grew up and currently living. Self is continuous across time - everyone experience a self that is consistent across time. Self coherence is universal as well- distinct and separable from others and the environment. Understanding that we are not only separate from physical environment but who we are extends beyond the boundaries of our skin - factors outside of us may influence who we are (ex spiritual forces)
