Epistemology: - from greek episteme , is the theory of knowledge of western philosophy that studies the nature, origin, and the scope of knowledge concerned with questions like what is knowledge / can it be known / how its acquired . Different forms of knowledge: propositional knowledge: aka knowledge that declarative statement, knowledge how example: bicycle has two wheels. Note: that all knowledge is belief is a necessary condition of knowledge (subjective element) in order for some proposition to count as knowledge, it is necessary that the proposition be true. Note: true justified belief refers to having reasons which are true to believe something. But one can have tjb and it may still not be knowledge. Note: truth and belief are separately necessary conditions of knowledge summary: tjb does not always mean one is right, but only that one has good reasons to think he is right.
