Document Summary

Lecture 19: species living in the same area, potentially interacting with each other, borders can be subjective. Hard to define where one border ends and another begins: metapopulation-populations of populations. But one species could be found in multiple areas. Group of all the populations from different areas: population density. Number of individuals per unit area: dispersion. How individuals are distributed relative to one another. Individual has equal probability of occurring anywhere in area. Could be something that lives in close proximity: find offspring of tree close to the tree of questions, wolves where they come together to create higher fitness for each other. Would be like this because they are tracking their resources and if resources are even, species might be even. Trying to get as far away from others as possible: size of population. Count all individuals: usually not possible because population is too large to count.
