Move 1 column adjacent properties switch slightly according to orientation (graded) in the same direction. Alternate l/r/l/r etc. and change orientation perception. Experiment: block off l eye (patch) all l eye cells in v1 will become more r-eye dominant: cannot use eye patch on children for too long! Experiment: if only see world as a certain orientation of line, only this orientation is preserved and takes over the other angles" columns.
