The link between signifier and signified is arbitrary in language. only matters because of the concept. Peirce: the sign is anything that someone gets a meaning form. The object is something that causes the sign. Explain some narrative signifiers and signifieds, schemata and scripts e. g. the door can become a symbole: door is the signifier that creates the signified feelings. Double process exchange with the world: top down, bottom up.
