Document Summary

8/24/17: my favorite fairytale is peter pan. I think that it comes across as an honest story and shares the theme of not wanting to grow up that many can relate to. It most commonly has a theme or a message to relay to the reader, sometimes they are hopeful, sometimes they are cautious. Fairytales often occur in different realms of nature and are extremely imaginative: purpose- have a lesson. Not always happy, sometimes scary: oral tradition, religious symbolism/ imagery, different versions/ multicultural- disney takes fairytales to promote american cultural values, temporal distancing- start (cid:449)ith (cid:862)o(cid:374)(cid:272)e upo(cid:374) a ti(cid:373)e(cid:863) Once upon a time, there was a long-lost kingdom that was dark and gloomy.
