Approaches to biology: reductionist approach, break it down to the smallest parts and study those parts and know everything about them, wholist approach, only study the system when it"s in tact- study it as a whole. Like dissolves like: like in terms of polarity, polar solute dissolves in polar solvent, nonpolar solute dissolves in nonpolar solvent.
