The pope doesn"t believe their way of worshipping. Age 7 or 8, bandages wrapped around feet to keep her at home: scholars, peasants/craftsmen, merchants, soldiers. China is centralized state, no matter the dynasty. Muskets, themselves, aren"t effective, but used them effectively. Japan suspicious & isolates itself in early 1600"s but keeps an eye on. Will prove later on capable of quickly adapting.
