In order to respond to questions on future pop quizzes and exams, you need to have a command of the definitions of certain terms that i use frequently in my lectures. This vocabulary applies in general to all periods we have discussed and will be discussing in the course of this semester. Actually you should already have an understanding of these terms that i have listed below. If you do not, you will remain lost. When you do or if you do, you will have a better idea of what i think is the core of understanding and appreciating all music that you encounter in your daily lives and in this course. Please take the time to review this list and to do the research in order to solidify your understanding of these terms. I have purposefully not given the definitions or listed examples.
