Document Summary

Objective: environmental signal, something that triggers transcriptional initiation process to make a protein and end with a mature protein. We got a cell and a nucleus, within the nucleus we have genetic material that will control the production of the protein. The genetic material in the nucleus are chromosomes(dna), genes that are scattered, space between multiple genes are called intergenic regions, each gene is made up of dna wrapped around histones which is chromatin, the bodies of chromatin are called. Dna cannot be transcribed because it is too compact and does not give all the regulatory proteins access of binding to go forward. Some signal that will be environmental inside or outside the cell will decide to initiate transcription. In order to initiate transcription, the very first step is to remodel the chromatin to give the dna access and the proteins that allow transcription to move forward to the dna.
