Business law: cumulative review for old material: different schools of legal thought include, 1. Natural law: higher or universal law exists that applies to all human beings and written laws should imitate these inherent principles if law = unjust, then not a true natural law and does not need to be obeyed. Inalienable human rights = ultimate legal authority: catholic church. Issue : what i regard as natural law may not be considered natural law by others, 2. Legal positivism: there can be no higher law than a nation"s positive law (national law: government , ultimate authority, no natural rights because humans rights exist solely because of the law, certain unlike natural law, 3. Historical school: evolutionary process of law by concentrating on origin and history of legal system looks at past, 4. Legal realism: law is just one of many institutions in society and is shaped by social forces and needs rebelled against historical approach.
