Adjustment: what went wrong, co-parenting, disruption of social circle, loss of support from partner, accept and redefine themselves as single. Cognitive development (2 years): decline in school. Long term only affects high school going into college. Interpersonal relationships: less sociable and have fewer friends, worry about other parent leaving, for teens early intercourse can occur. Antisocial behavior: substance use, delinquent, and criminal activity.
