Document Summary

Conformity: tendency to change perceptions, opinions, or behavior in ways that are consistent with group norms. Obedience: acting in accord with a direct order. Social norms: rules or guidelines in a group or culture about what behaviors are proper and improper (implicit (unspoken) or explicit) Group size 3-5 (most conformity) any less or more doesn"t do much. Theory: an integrated set of principles that explain and predict observed events. Hypothesis: a testable proposition that describes the relationship that may exist between events. Correlational research: systematic measure of the relation between two or more variables. Negative means variables are negatively associated and vice versa for positive. These are beneficial if the hypothesis cannot be practically or ethically be tested ( 0 means they are not correlated at all) experimentally. A third variable (c) could be causing other variables (a and b) All people have a chance of having experiences. Between groups: each person experiences only one level of independent variable.
