According to the united states department of justice, women between 18-24 years of age are at the greatest risk of being sexually harassed or violated. As off now, sexual assault is the second most violent crime committed on college campuses. Hence, majority of the college campuses put more emphasis on keeping the campus safe through several protests or programs. These programs are set up to make the victim feel comfortable to come forward and talk about the incident. This paper will focus on the nature of violence against women on college campuses while also exploring the reasons behind the underreporting of such heinous crimes and the implemented programs as a result. College women can be victim of sexual harassment at the college parties and residence halls where the victim is intoxicated or otherwise incapacitated.
