Document Summary

Peter, little, on the somalia dilemma: adding layers of complexity to an already complex. Somalia is a failed state because of absence of a central strong power, and multiple foreign invasions (u. s. , kenya, ethiopia) When you don"t have a central authority you have a fractured political environment filled with warlords aka radical groups that become very very extreme. Next, with each intervention or outside invasion groups become more and more radicalized. They are fleeing the conflict that is destabilizing their home. Environmental factors the droughts people now are starving and subjected to lots of violence thus, they leave and become refugees. Outsides with suspicions because of association with radical groups. They are a financial impact/burden on the host country. The people in the host country fear that they are going to take jobs. Refugees are fleeing conflicts that are destabilizing their home.
