Urban planning: planning that deals directly with urban areas. Urban areas: high levels of population and development. Transportation planning: planning aspects of how we get around. Ex: amtrak train it didn"t happen by accident, it was planned. Economic development: idea that we can take a place that didn"t have a lot economically going on and then add new development, tear down homes and build a plaza, newer apartments, theaters, etc. ; the idea of bringing people to a new area. Urban design: the area between planning and architecture it bridges the two together to help bring people into an area. It is built for a purpose for people to walk around. Community development: focuses on building up neighborhoods, parks, common areas - places where people can come together.
