Priming task: reorganize scrambled words into sentences (adjectives and action verbs) Main task: framed-line test (kitayama)only the absolute task, not the relative one. They are given a box (frame) with a line in it and then given a different sized frame and asked to draw the same length of line in the new frame. Primed with adjectives (less situational) less deviation from the original line. Primed with action verbs (more situational) more deviation from the original line. Their findings were consistent with these predictions . those exposed to action verbs showed more deviation from the original line, and those exposed to adjectives showed less deviation from the original line. The linguistic categories defined in english also work in dutch. Still not clear how generalizable these claims can be. Proof for situatedness of adjectives and action verbs.
