Prokaryotic cells lack organelles that are typically found in eukaryotic cells. Eukaryotic cells also have membrane bound organelles and also contain multiple chromosomes found within a nucleus. To distinguish between different eukaryotic cells, we compare animal cells with plant cells. The primary difference between these cells is that plant cells have a cell wall and chloroplasts while animal cells do not.
