Ex: how fast/ slow someone talks, use of pause, up/down in pitch, loud/quiet voice. How ppl use time is a nonverbal communication. Some ppl can view time as monochronic or polychronic. Polychronic - see time as a thing that also exists. Ex: person may show up 20 min late. About trying to learn about a person that occupies a certain environment. May start to think about what the person is like and what they may be representing by choosing the color yellow. Does the behavior have a reliable effect on others. Can you have multiple ppl do the same behavior & get similar response. Ex: invading space & other responds by moving away. Interactive response of invading space is moving away. If yes, then there is shared encoding - decoding.
