The pleasures of power are the pleasures that accompany the persuasion of a man"s being in a condition to dispose people, by means of their hopes and fears, to give him the benefit of their services ". Happiness, therefore, must be some form of contemplation: and that all these attributes belong most of all to the philosopher is manifest. He, therefore, is the dearest to the gods. And he who is that will presumably be also the happiest; so that in this way too the philosopher will more than any other be happy. 9: philosophers practice reason the best so that"s why they"re god"s favorite and if you"re in god"s favor then you will be presumed the happiest. Aristotle views the philosopher as the happiest man. He believes that contemplation is the activity of god. All other activity such as sleeping or action is beneath god, so the only thing left is contemplation.
