Hominids: present day gorillas, chimpanzees, modern humans: focus on modern humans: walking on 2 legs, freeing limbs for weaponry, fire making, brain/cognitive skills, etc. Evolution, driven by natural selection, is when plants and animals change/develop over generations, as certain traits are favored: early hominids, adaptation, and climate change i. Environmental changes: eastern and southern africa, tool use by homo habilis , or skillful man i. Differences in family dynamics, use of fire, and ability to travel.
