They kill a lot of trojans & wounded deiphobus. On the right, hector continues to win/kill many, but all men with him have lost their vigor. Hector soon realizes a lot of his men are dead or wounded. An eagle flies on great ajax"s right favorable omen. The achaeans look around & realize the extent to how many men they have lost. Agamemnon proposes giving up & going home. Odysseus calls him a coward & says that is disgraceful. Diomedes urges them to rally their troops.
