Public health is the set of activities a society undertakes to monitor and improve the health of its collective membership. Greatest increases in human health in all of history have occurred over the past 150 years (sanitation, economic/educational achievement, childhood mortality) Health is virtue while illness is punishment. Disease has been a greater threat than war and violence, but not as sensational. Ph has dealt with disease before understanding its etiology. Challenges related to the complicated relationship between economic progress and health improvement. Ph"s relatio(cid:374) to so(cid:272)ial justi(cid:272)e: relation to the tuskegee study by the phs, ended in 1972. Health is beyond the absence of disease or illness: trends, causes inequalities. Ethnicity: shared cultural heritage, traditions, language and histories. Power: possession of control, authority, or influence over others. Privilege: a right of immunity granted as a peculiar benefit of advantage.
