Father is involved in nurturing of the children, he"s not distant or disciplinary. Relatives and fictive kin involved as well in socialization. It takes a village to raise a child . Children did the gathering with the mother when old enough but not hunting. Less than 10% lived to be older than 60. Elderly were treated with love and respect in favorable conditions. During droughts where there was little food, the elderly fell last on the list of who should eat. If you have to keep moving and they can"t keep up physically they get left behind.
