Political culture is broadly shared values, beliefs, and attitudes about how the government should function and politics should operate; americans political culture emphasizes liberty, equality, and democracy. Daniel elazar described 3 types of political culture: moralistic, individualistic, and traditionalistic. Moralistic political culture is the belief that the gov should be active in promoting public good and that citizens should participate in politics and civic activities to ensure that good: rooted in new england. Traditionalistic political culture is the belief that gov should be dominated by political elites and guided by tradition: south, reflected values of the plantation economy, public policies benefit the elites the most. It"s possi(cid:271)le for states to ha(cid:448)e a (cid:272)ulture that is a (cid:272)o(cid:373)(cid:271)i(cid:374)atio(cid:374) of t(cid:449)o (cid:272)o(cid:374)(cid:272)epts. Texas us categorized as traditionalistic individualistic, but its changing. It is also hard to classify because texas is a big ass fucking state and is hella diverse. We got many different political cultures within our borders.
