Moon illusion: the apparent difference between the size of the moon at the horizon and the size when viewed higher in the sky: primary, secondary, & stimulus motives. Primary motives: based on biological needs that must be met for survival (innate) Secondary motives: motives based on learned needs, drives, and goals. Stimulus motives: innate needs or stimulation and information (curiosity, avoidiing boredom not necessary for survival: attention & selective attention.
