American political culture is not solely seen in american government. Politics pervade every corner of a person"s life. American political culture encompasses psychological, social and economic factors, as well as gender and politics. All of these factors lead to tendencies in our life and in our thinking that is starkly different. Our relationship with the government can be described as a bad marriage. psychological factors in american political culture includes individualism: the paradox of individuated, disaggregated citizenry vs. collectivism. Americans are no longer as individualistic as they think. Social factors of american political culture includes demography: age, diversity, and gender. The government is overburdened with taking care of older citizens. The growing proportions of age groups leads to an increasing governmental role. In terms of diversity it is predicted that in the future minorities will inhibit most college campuses. There is an increasing role in central government, since there is no longer a dependence on parents.
