Henry"s attempt to woo katherine in act 5, scene 2 of the play shows the power of language and how henry is able to use language to get what he wants. In his conversation with katherine, he speaks in blank verse in an attempt to be very straightforward to explain to katherine exactly what he wants which is necessary because of the language barrier. This conversation illustrates the power struggles between the characters and the idea that. Henry carries far more power than katherine does. He uses his charm to win katherine over because of the diplomatic and political benefits he would gain with this his union with her. He uses language to suggest that he will possess france as well as her with such confidence and charm that shows that he is aware that he has more power in this situation. Even though this is a politically based relationship, henry still tries to appeal to.
