Admittedly they are mentally ill people whom treatment is largely failure. However, there are greatly outnumbered by people who do get better, either spontaneously or through formal treatment: people with psychological disorders are often violent and dangerous. Only a modest association ha been found between mental illness and violence-prone tendencies: people with psychological disorders behave in bizarre ways and are very different from normal people. This is true for only a small minority.
