Ignorance vs stupidity: there are 2 explanations for why some children do poorly on standardized tests than do other children. One explanation is that they are less intelligent the. The other is that some children do more poorly because they are ignorant of the right responses for a particular test. The chitling test: demonstrates that there is a body of information about which the white middle class is ignorant. A major aim was to show that afros and whites are just not talking the same language: can infer how street-smart" someone is, currently, this test only has face validity. No evidence suggests that this test successfully predicts performance on any important criterion. The black intelligence test of cultural homogeneity: asks 100 respondents to define 100 vocab words relevant to afro culture. Afros perform better on this test than whites: can be used as a tool to familiarize whites with afro culture.
